Thought - provoking work from popular South African artist Adrienne Silva invites us to study what is happening in her work and what we can learn from it.
Our heritage is a rich resource which, as we grow ourselves, we seek to understand and embrace - how it has informed us....Yet is is elusive and eroded by the passage of time and other factors beyond our control
so we cannot delay in our search for hidden meaning.

A Artista Plástica Sul Africana, Adrienne Silva, convida-nos a visitar os seus mais recentes trabalhos. Um conjunto de obras inquietantes que nos conduzem a uma reflexão sobre os temas abordados pela autora e o que eles nos suscitam.
A nossa herança cultural é um recurso riquíssimo. Ajuda-nos durante o nosso crescimento a procurar compreender e abraçar o que aculturámos e cristalizámos, fruto de um conjunto de informação recebida… no entanto a passagem do tempo tem uma acção corrosiva e ilusória. Factores fora do nosso controlo, afectam o nosso entendimento, pelo que é inútil debruçarmo-nos demasiado nos seus submersos significados.

Artists Statement:

I paint life now.
I have never differentiated between what I do when I create and my daily routine.

For me, creativity is the essence of being and you will see this in my inspired projects, where I question roots and individual displacement, human- and world suffering,and where meaning lies.
